NRM says optimistic about winning Serere byelection
The National Resistance Movement (NRM)
head of mobilization, Rosemary Seninde, has said they are optimistic about
winning the Serere County byelection.
The byelection to replace the late Patrick
Okabe will be held on February 23.
Seninde said the NRM flagbearer in the
hotly contested race is "saleable and articulates issues that concern the
people".
Speaking in Kyere sub-county in Serere
district on Monday, she said the ruling party believes voters will consider
those qualities to vote for Philip Oucor.
At the first campaign rally for Oucor,
Seninde said they hoped supporters show up in larger numbers for subsequent
campaign rallies.
On his part, Oucor said his rivals were spreading "propaganda" against him.
